Community Centre

Hammerwich Youth and Community Centre
known as Hammerwich Community Centre.

The Centre is available for hire for children's parties and social events. There is a large room which can hold 80, a small room which can accommodate 40 and a meeting room for 15 people. A skittle alley and a builder's tower are available for hire in the centre. Also available are table tennis tables.
There are times in the week which are available for weekly hire by a group. Short term bookings by a group must begin with a deposit of £100.
Parties are not booked for children over 12 years of age.
To hire the Centre email the hammerwich wildlife address on the home page. For social events it costs £10 per hour.
Current users are Hammerwich Scouts, Burntwood Singers, Slimming World,  Lichfield Poultry Association, Here-and-Now group from St. John the Baptist Parish Church, various dance academies and Hammerwich Wildlife Group.

The Centre is now listed with the Land Registry and the Charity Commission is holding the entitlement. It has no connection with the Parish Council. It is essentially an amenity for the Parish of Hammerwich.
All managers of the Centre are volunteers; there are no paid staff.
Heating is with a gas-fired turbo-charged unit and three air-to-air heat pumps.
The car park is owned by the Centre and is available on condition the owner lives immediately adjacent to the Centre, is visiting the Post Office and shop, is attending St. John's church or is visiting the Centre. No charge is made and in return the management does not accept responsibility for the care of the parked cars. From time-to-time owners of certain cars are asked to remove the car because it is failing to fit into this mutual agreement for use of the car park.

The managing committee is interested to hear of any Parish residents who would like to assist in the management of the Centre and its development for reaching out to the Community.
